The obverse, (heads), has a denticalled outer rim and features the image of Australia's, (England's), Monarch at the time, King George V facing to the left, with the legend reading the Latin "GEORGIVS V D.G. BRITT: OMN: REX F.D. IND: IMP:"
This translates roughly to "George V, by the grace of God, King of all Britons, defender of the faith,
Emperor of India".
The reverse, (tails), has a denticalled rim and features the Australian Coat of Arms as issued by KEVII in 1908, with the words "ADVANCE AUSTRALIA" in a scroll at the base of the Coat of Arms, "ONE FLORIN - TWO SHILLINGS" above the Coat of Arms, and the date underneath with ornaments either side. The 1913 florin has no mint mark.
